The breezy nightlife of Cabo Frio Brazil

Run from the hassle of work and busy metro life to somewhere relaxing, if don’t know such place, don’t worry we got the one for you, yes it is Cabo Frio in Brazil. It is is a Brazilian municipality in Rio de Janeiro state, founded by the Portuguese on November 13, 1615.

It is the largest city of Regiao dos Lagos in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Cabo Frio, is the perfect destination for getaway with family, friends and your partner. The major attraction of the place is its water sports.Besides adventure sports, this place offers stunning landscapes, here you can hop on a number of good classy lounges, bars and pubs, this place will give you hippie vibes although, If you prefer comfort and luxury you can opt in Buzios.

As we have already mention Cabo Frio is a perfect chill destination where you can relax endlessly, it has earned its name for its cold water beaches that can get to 15ºC or less. Filled with white sand and bright blue sea, the beaches in Cabo Frio invite you to fully enjoy sunny days. The most popular is the Forte beach. 7,5 km long, it is the city’s central beach and its boardwalk is packed with benches and kiosks where you can sit down and have some ice cream or a cold drink to watch the sea and the people walking by. Across the street, there are also great places to eat delicious snacks, which serves local delicacies like aioli shrimp or fried fish. On the left corner of the beach, there is a fortress considered a landmark by the National Historic and Artistic Heritage Institute, Sao Mateus Fort. At the historical 16th century building, you can get an amazing view of the coastline.

Conchas beach is another name, it is a shell-like shape beach, It is perfect for children and for those who like fishing and kayaking.beach is surrounded by huge white sand dunes, Dunas beach has a more agitated sea, with good waves for sports like surfing, kite surfing or sailing. Apart from chilling, relaxing and sunbathing, you can walk around the city to explore the busy nightlife, especially from December to March. Besides night clubs and bars, there is the popular Boulevard Canal, a boardwalk with plenty of restaurants and bars with live music performances, right across from Itajuru Canal.

If you want to go shopping, you must visit the famous Bikini Street, which gathers over 100 shops with a great variety of swimwear for men, women and children. If you can manage some time out of your tour, we will recommend you to visit the nearby towns of Arraial do Cabo, which is just 10 km away and Buzios, which is 25 km away from Cabo Frio.

How to reach:

    1. Plane/airport: Cabo Frio has International Airport which receives regular incoming flights from several regions of Brazil and some nearby countries.
    2. Road (bus): From Rio de Janeiro, you can opt to take a bus to Cabo Frio, it is around 170 km from there, and it will take 2 hrs approx to reach Cabo Frio.
    3. Personal or rental vehicles: From Rio de Janeiro you can drive to Cabo Frio through BR-101. Or you can rent a car from Rio airport.
